Every year I struggle to find my husband a decent Christmas gift. He's the worst. If we agree to spend a certain amount, he always out-spends me. One year I got him a back massager from the grocery store (note: I live in Barbados where you grab what you can when you see it) and he got me a new bag. Nice hunny... Or he's not too fond of the gift I gave and returns it. This year, since we're already going skiing and galavanting around NYC for the holidays, I've said, "No gifts!"
However, you may find me in Sephora or Anthropologie sneaking myself a little gift. And if you're in the same boat as me, here are a few gift ideas to give yourself this year. Oh! And then one you should definitely skip.
I don't have all the cool features, like the light bulbs or door lock; I have only the basic stuff, but I do sure love it! She's in my kitchen so I use her quite frequently for conversions. My favorite feature so far is the music. "Alexa, play Christmas music." Love her!
This razor idea first came about as a birthday present for my husband. But then I saw they had this very pretty one with a rose gold face and black handle and I was sold. I was terrified the first time I used it thinking I was going to cut an artery and die on the shower floor, but all went well. It took me 10 minutes to shave the first time 😅 but then I got the hang of it and it's been fabulous ever since. Love it! Shave lasts longer and it's so much cheaper than disposable blades.
I joined a Barre class a couple months ago and have been hooked ever since. Once a week, I get toned to Soca music (that's because I live in the Caribbean and my instructor is super energetic!) and work on my balance, posture and derriere😉.
I started using the Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer about a year ago to intensify my morning runs. The first week I used it, it was insane. I was super hot and sweating like crazy. Now, it's become like second skin and I love it, because I work harder during my workouts. But now when I race, I run without it, and I feel 5 pounds lighter. It's improved my speed and as a plus sweats my mid-section and keeps the water weight off.
I received the scrub for my birthday and the scent is just gorgeous. So now I'm in love. Since I've tried everything else above, this is the gift I'll be splurging on for myself this Christmas. Ordering the lotion as we speak!
and this is not my favorite...
I love trying new makeup products and sometimes I'm in love and sometimes I'm not. Usually I forget the ones that don't work out. This one, however, I have to alert my friends, because I've seen the ad in a million places. It's the latest trend and is just fluff. It dried up in a day and, even when it worked, did not have the look as advertised. So save yourself the the trouble and skip this new beauty fad.
What are you gifting your partner this year? What are you loving lately?
