Tropical Martini Recipe
Back when we first started writing the blog we created "bump day" posts. Always on Wednesdays (an obvious play on hump day), they were fun recipes and life tips to help break up the work week.
I'm not sure what made me remember our bump days. It may have been the snowfall last week or the daydreaming of my upcoming girls' weekend in Vegas, but there was definitely a connection to Wednesday and wanting something fun to do today.
And as I research spray tans to cover my pale, wintery body, all I want to do is sit poolside with an ice cold cocktail in my hand. So wishing for summer and dreaming of Vegas, here is my absolute favorite cocktail. It always takes me to my happy place!
I discovered this cocktail at one of my favorite restaurants back when we lived in Barbados and quickly got my hubby (my favorite bartender) to replicate it for me. It’s delicious, refreshing, and not too sweet. And while winter may still be lurking around, one sip of this drink and you’ll be transported to a tropical beach. In fact, I call it the Tropical Martini. Feel fee to serve this cocktail in any type of glass, but I truly believe that every drink is better when served in a martini glass.
To make this delectable libation, load up a martini shaker with ice and add the following:
- 1.5 oz cranberry juice
- 1.5 oz pineapple juice
- 1.5 oz pear vodka
- 0.5 oz lemon juice
- 0.5 oz simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar mixed together until the sugar dissolves)
Shake it up and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a slice of pear or pineapple and enjoy (responsibly of course)!
Cheers!
